Hi! I’m Marc, your Philosophy Companion, and welcome to my website.

It was born from my love of wisdom and a desire to share it with others.

I believe that anyone can participate in our many traditions of thought and bring their knowledge to bear on our everyday practices. My hope is to accompany you in your philosophical journey as you flourish in your aspirations.

I have studied and taught philosophy for more than a decade, engaging with thinkers ancient and modern while experimenting with their ideas both personally and professionally.

I graduated with a PhD in philosophy from the University of the Free State (South Africa) in 2025. My dissertation was titled “Cultivating the Public”, and focused on Hannah Arendt’s political thought on education and the public sphere.

I also have a B.Sc. in Behavioral Genetics (UFS), majoring in genetics and psychology, a Higher Certificate in Management (Milpark Education), and a Level 5 Diploma in TEFL (The TEFL Academy).

Putting philosophy into practice has empowered me with the vocabulary and skills to better understand my experiences and express my perspectives. I have faith that you can also share in that strength.
